Back in 2019, Belgium artist, Jovi Cauwels, decided to follow his passion for surfing and illustration. He started a graphic design course after his working hours as a social-cultural worker. During this time, he started Raised By Summer, an ocean-inspired illustration project. Today he is an illustrator & graphic designer who is currently living between different surf spots.

In the last few years, between India and now, He came in contact with the work of many great surf and ocean artists. It’s been artists like Andy Davis, Lizzy Artwork, Daniella Garreton, and Inna Kelapa that opened up his eyes. They made him realize that maybe if he consistently put his energy toward creativity, he could also become an illustrator.

Today, Raised By Summer is a professionalized project. Through his passion for crafted illustration, design, and branding, he helps lifestyle- and ocean-related businesses find their unique style and identity.
