We are honoured to support POW as a Base Camp Partner and to be the official supplier of POW merchandise textiles. The first collaboration was released in autumn 2020 with the official POW x ZRCL collection in our online stores as well as at our loyal partner stores. At that time, Corinne Weidmann aka Iuna Tinta designed her interpretation of the Finsteraarhorn. At the same time, the first POW merchandise collection made of our textiles appeared. Then, in autumn 2022, the second merchandise drop took place, with none other than Aaron Schwartz showing off his art.
As a former professional snowboarder and after years of working in the action sports industry, it was clear as WE ARE ZRCL founder Kilian Wiget that we support the non-profit organization POW. So that they can bring about change in society, the economy and politics with their climate protection programmes and projects. Because in the end, we all live in the same world and are ultimately subject to the same cycle of becoming and passing away. Accordingly, we should all treat this world with care and sustainability. And since it is known that things work better together, we have entered into a Brand Alliance with POW as a Base Camp Partner.
Protect Our Winters (POW) is the voice of the outdoor community against climate change. It stems from the commitment of American snowboarder Jeremy Jones, because as a winter sportsman, he directly witnessed the consequences of climate change in the mountains. In 2007, Jones decided to combine his passion for the mountains with climate protection. He founded an organization in the USA that explicitly advocates for and is supported by the outdoor community.
Since then, POW has prospered into a worldwide movement. Since 2017, POW has also been active in Switzerland and within a few years has become the most important climate protection organization in the Swiss outdoor community.
The core of the law is: «Switzerland shall become climate neutral by the year 2050. To achieve this goal, the Confederation is planning measures: The replacement of oil, gas and electric heating systems with climate-friendly heating systems is to be supported with two billion francs. Businesses in industry and commerce that use innovative technologies for climate-friendly production are to benefit from subsidies amounting to 1.2 billion francs.»
Accordingly, we thank all those who have cast their votes for our mountains and our planet.
