TRACEABILITY

Organic cotton

imyc-tansania-1723×1045

For our socks we use exclusively organic cotton from the bioRe® projects in Tanzania.

The bioRe® label stands for fair trade organic cotton based on the highest standards worldwide. In the diffuse cotton market, the bioRe® label with its quality seals aims to offer consumers a neutral, trustworthy orientation. For all those who value genuine organic cotton and fair trade.

Since the beginning, we have relied on the collaboration, quality and sustainable values of Remei AG to source our organic cotton. We are proud to offer our customers one of the fairest and cleanest organic cotton on the market.

Yarn and dyeing

Created with GIMP

For our first small sock production, we sourced existing yarns from our long-time partners RSWM Limited (Melange) and Maral Overseas Limited (Solid) in India.

The Maral yarn for our black (Solid) socks is dyed at our new partner, Gebrüder Otto GmbH in Dietenheim, Germany.

Since 1901, the company has been run by the 4th generation of the family. It is now one of the last spinning mills in Germany and ensures ecologically responsible manufacturing. Special mention should be made of the company’s own hydroelectric power plants, which have supplied the company with green electricity from the very beginning.

The company sets the highest standards for itself in sustainability and quality. In doing so, it relies on proven management systems and certifications. The yarns are dyed according to the strict guidelines of the GOTS for organic yarns.

For the gray socks, the yarn is dyed and spun at RSWM in India, as are all of our melange yarns.

Manufacturing

wearezrcl-sockenproduktion-esda-de

Our socks are produced at ESDA Strumpfwerke GmbH in St. Egidien, Germany.

The origins of Esda Strumpfwerke GmbH date back to 1886. Just producing hosiery is not enough for them. They feel obliged to the people behind them as well as to nature and stand by their responsibility. For this reason, they regularly have themselves checked and certified by independent testing institutes for social and ecological standards.
